WADAH CONDEMNS ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES ON DOHA, QATAR – SOLIDARITY WITH MALAYSIA, DEFENDING SOVEREIGNTY AND PALESTINE
Press Statement 10 September 2025
The Movement for an Informed Society Malaysia (WADAH) strongly condemns the Israeli airstrikes on Doha, Qatar. This act of aggression is inhumane, unlawful, and a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of an independent state. Such actions not only endanger civilian lives but also threaten to destabilise the already fragile Middle East region.
WADAH affirms that:
Israel’s actions are a provocation that threatens international peace. By targeting Doha, a centre of regional diplomacy and mediation, Israel has demonstrated arrogance and a rejection of dialogue and peace efforts.
WADAH fully supports the firm statement of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in condemning this attack and demanding that Israel be held accountable at the international level. Malaysia’s courage in upholding the principle of justice reflects moral leadership that should be emulated by the Muslim world and the international community.
WADAH calls on the United Nations (UN) and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take immediate and concrete measures to stop Israel’s escalating aggression, which continues to undermine international law and risks sparking wider conflict in the region.
WADAH stresses that solidarity with Palestine cannot be separated from this incident. The attack on Qatar is part of a broader strategy to pressure nations that remain steadfast in defending the Palestinian cause. Any resolution to the Palestinian conflict must therefore be based on justice, the recognition of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Malaysia–Qatar–Palestine solidarity must be strengthened. WADAH calls upon all Malaysians to remain united in demanding justice, rejecting occupation, and upholding peace grounded in dignity and sovereignty.
WADAH urges Arab and Muslim nations to consider decisive action by severing diplomatic ties with Israel. Such a measure would send a clear signal that Israel’s arrogance and aggression will not be tolerated, and that serious political and diplomatic consequences will follow.
WADAH reiterates that genuine peace cannot be achieved so long as occupation, aggression, and violations of sovereignty are allowed to persist. The world must unite to reject Israel’s state violence, which has increasingly become a global threat.
