WADAH PRESS RELEASE 21 NOVEMBER 2024
WADAH SUPPORT FOR THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION TO CONTINUE SHARE EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE TO HELP DEVELOP AFGHANISTAN
WADAH strongly supports the position of the Malaysian government and the Ministry of Education in receiving the working visit of a delegation of Afghanistan officials.
The Malaysian government had made it clear from previous governments policies that they had been prepared to aid Afghanistan in terms of social, healthcare and humanitarian assistance.
The purpose of the visit was to provide the officials an overview of Malaysia’s education system, including the education of women and girls. It was to enlighten the delegation to an inclusive education system with access and equity transcending socioeconomic status, gender and ethnicity. It is understood that the Afghan delegation had requested for Malaysia as best practices in terms of developing education policies.
On the basis of engagement and building goodwill, Malaysia has taken a proactive stance by engaging the Afghanistan government in order to rejoin the international community by complying with universal human rights values.
In striving to achieve a greater good, Malaysia does it insightfully by showing them the way to change. Malaysia chooses to show the way of wisdom so that Afghanistan returns to the global community by living in peaceful co-existence.
The disparaging remarks by the Bagan member of parliament is uncalled for. He seems out of touch and disconnected with geo-political realities and managing diversities amidst cultural divides. He seems to be warped in a world of suspicion and intolerance of others. Peace-makers build bridges not put up walls between mankind.
WADAH reiterates support for the minister of education to continue share expertise and knowledge to help develop Afghanistan. Malaysia has a track record of assisting newly developing and emerging countries.
