WADAH MEDIA STATEMENT : 7 OCTOBER 2024
ONE YEAR SINCE THE PALESTINE ATTACK: A CALL FOR PEACE AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION
A year has passed since the outbreak of the attack that has claimed over 42,000 lives in Gaza, Palestine. This ongoing conflict represents a profound humanitarian tragedy, affecting stability not only in the Middle East but also on a global scale. The Movement For an Informed Society Malaysia (WADAH) underscores that peace, justice, and human dignity are fundamental rights for all, regardless of religion, race, or region.
WADAH strongly condemns all forms of oppression and violence against the people of Palestine. We demand that all responsible parties withdraw from Gaza immediately and respect Palestinian sovereignty. Acts of oppression, attacks, and the denial of rights to the Palestinian people must cease without delay.
We call upon the international community—including world leaders, international organizations, and non-governmental bodies—to persistently pressure the Israeli regime to end all forms of violence and promptly withdraw from the occupied territories. Diplomatic efforts and dialogue must be intensified to achieve a just and peaceful resolution, ensuring that the Palestinian people can live with dignity, free from oppression.
WADAH also expresses its admiration and respect for the patience and resilience of the Palestinian people in facing all forms of challenges and oppression. They have become a model for the world in defending their rights and homeland. Their spirit of struggle should inspire all of humanity to pursue justice and fundamental human rights.
WADAH appreciates and supports the efforts of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, who has consistently upheld the rights of the Palestinian people and condemned the actions of the Israeli regime on international platforms, despite various threats and pressures. This courageous and principled stance reflects Malaysia’s commitment to global justice and human rights.
We urge all Malaysians to remain steadfast in supporting the Palestinian struggle to defend their rights, homeland, and their right to live in peace and dignity. This support is not merely a religious issue; it is a struggle for justice, human rights, and universal human values.
WADAH firmly believes that the foundation of global peace lies in mutual respect, social justice, and a spirit of universal human brotherhood. Efforts toward diplomacy and dialogue must be amplified to find common understanding and peaceful solutions. A humanitarian and respectful approach must take precedence. We hope that all parties will unite to strengthen this spirit and strive for a world free from conflict, violence, and injustice.
