إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
WADAH (Pertubuhan Wadah Pencerdasan Umat Malaysia) officially expresses its profound sadness and deep condolences following the solemn news of the passing of the Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, the late Ameer-ul-Azeem. He passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer.
In an official international condolence statement issued today, the leadership of WADAH, representing its members and activists across Malaysia, extended their heartfelt sympathies to the leadership, members, fraternity, and the entire family of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan on the immense loss of the prominent Islamic movement leader.
A Lasting Legacy of Service to the Ummah
The late Ameer-ul-Azeem was widely recognized as a steadfast Islamic leader who possessed unwavering principles and consistently stood at the forefront of advocating for Islam and social justice. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the development of the Ummah, community empowerment, and the strengthening of the global Islamic movement with utmost sincerity and devotion.
WADAH highlighted that his lifelong dedication, wisdom, perseverance, and continuous sacrifices have left an enduring legacy. His service as Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan will remain a profound source of inspiration, guidance, and motivation for young activists and leaders across the Muslim world.
His struggle in fostering civic awareness, defending human rights, and leading society through reformative approaches demonstrated that the determination of an Islamic movement leader can create an impact far beyond national borders. His departure is not only a monumental loss for the people of Pakistan but is also deeply felt by civil society organizations and regional Islamic movements worldwide.
Prayers and Solidarity for the Bereaved
Joining in prayer for his eternal peace, the leadership and members of WADAH pray that Allah SWT forgives his shortcomings, accepts his righteous deeds, and grants him the highest ranks in Jannatul Firdaus.
Furthermore, WADAH prays that Allah SWT bestows patience, fortitude, strength, and steadfastness upon his family, colleagues, and loved ones during this painful time of grief and trial.
Reflecting on the Quranic reminder in Surah Al-Baqarah,
“Indeed, to Allah we belong, and indeed, to Him we shall return.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 156)
—the passing of such an exemplary leader serves as a reminder to all movement activists to carry forward the torch of da’wah, advance societal enlightenment, and uphold truth with wisdom and noble character.
May Allah SWT grant him eternal mercy, reward his tireless service to the Ummah, and admit him into His Paradise. Āmīn.
