WADAH PENCERDASAN UMAT MALAYSIA (WADAH) CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF SHEIKH YOUSSEF NADA
A GREAT LOSS FOR THE ISLAMIC WORLD
Wadah Pencerdasan Umat Malaysia (WADAH) expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Sheikh Youssef Nada, a visionary leader who returned to the mercy of Allah today. His passing is a great loss not only to his family but also to Muslims worldwide.
Sheikh Youssef Nada’s Great Contributions
1. Role in Islamic Da’wah: Sheikh Youssef Nada was known as the unofficial “foreign minister” of the Muslim Brotherhood. He played a significant diplomatic role in building relationships with governments and organizations worldwide to advocate for social justice and Islamic values.
2. Development of Islamic Economics: As a successful businessman, he managed large-scale international investments through his company, Al-Taqwa Bank, based in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The bank was a pioneer in Islamic finance, adhering to Shariah principles, emphasizing economic justice, and ensuring equitable wealth distribution.
3. Contributions to Thought and Political Reform: Sheikh Youssef Nada wrote and spoke extensively on Islam’s role in governance and the importance of dialogue and harmony between religions and cultures. He was a staunch advocate of peaceful political reform and promoted democracy within the framework of Islamic principles.
